On August 8, 2009 the Western Division of the Sunshine Region of the National Model Railroad Association held its summer 2009 Mini-Meet at Plant City, Florida. The meet was held at the John Trinkle Building on the Plant City Campus of the Hillsborough Community College from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The meet was open to all model railroaders (NMRA membership was not required to attend the meet).
The meet featured clinics on Decoder Pro, prominent American Stream Locomotives and Phosphate Hoppers. Also held was a clinic for those who wanted to learn how to build wood buildings from kits. Ten members from Western Division and The H. B. Plant Railroad Historical Society took part in the in the clinic. Train locomotives, cars and building models that were built by members were displayed and judged for Best of Show.
After the meet, the H. B. Plant Railroad Historical Society held an Open House for the Western Division of the Sunshine Region at the train club.
The H. B. Plant Railroad Historical Society invites you to our next open house on Pioneer Day, November 7, 2009, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM in conjunction with the East Hillsborough Historical Society.
On March 20, 2010 from 9:00 AM to3:00 PM the H. B. Plant Railroad Historical Society will hold its 20th annual Train Show and Swap Meet at the John Trinkle Building on the Plant City Campus of the Hillsborough Community College. For more information please check the Events Section.
